Cellular pathology

The department of cellular pathology, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and University College London Medical School, is a combined trust and medical school department providing a comprehensive diagnostic service and a research facility. The department is part of the oncology directorate, part of the division of specialist services. The department processes approximately 20,000 histology, 130 autopsies and 5,000 diagnostic cytology specimens a year. Gynae cytology samples are reported by the joint Royal Free and UCLH Cervical Cytology Service which is based at UCLH. We hold full accreditation with Clinical Pathology Accreditation (CPA) UK Ltd.
