Trust members - Why become a member?

Membership is free and provides an opportunity for our patients and local public to have a say and be involved in shaping the services we offer, as well as being invited to events and talks – such as our ‘medicine for members’ events talks that are designed to help patients and the public understand more about innovative treatments.

Trust members can choose the level of involvement they wish to have. Membership provides a range of opportunities, from just receiving the members' newsletter to attending meetings and completing surveys. You might even want to stand for election as a council member in the future

As a member you will:

  • Have a greater say in the services we run
  • Be more involved with your hospital
  • Receive updates from the Royal Free including the annual governors' report
  • Be invited to attend member events including the annual members meeting
  • Be invited to take part in focus groups to help shape our services
  • Be able to stand for election as a governor of the trust
  • Elect a council of governors to represent your views to the trust board
