Welcome to the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery. The service is based at the Royal Free Hospital and our team of fifteen consultants all undertake general plastic surgery procedures in addition to which they each have sub-specialty interests. These include the surgery for facial reanimation, ear reconstruction, hand conditions, the treatment and diagnosis of skin cancers including sentinel node biopsy in melanoma, breast surgery including reconstruction and treatment of lower limb trauma.
Numerous operating lists are held at the Royal Free each day. Depending on the nature of the surgery to be performed and individual circumstances patients are admitted as day cases or in-patients. Minor local anaesthetic operating lists are also held. Our adult plastic surgery ward is located on the 7th floor and is led by a team of dedicated plastic surgery nurses. In addition we have a clinical nurse specialist who runs the plastic surgery outreach service and the nurse led micro-pigmentation and scar management clinics.
Out-patients
Our out-patient clinics are based in clinic 14 on the ground floor at the Royal Free. In addition clinics are also held at numerous other hospitals. See consultant list for details.
‘Choose and Book’ is available for most clinics, however, some specialised clinics are not included.
