General CAMHS

This part of our service helps young people with the following conditions:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety problems such as not wanting to go to school or go out
  • Phobias (ie being frightened of specific things, such as injections)
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder  (OCD)
  • Hearing voices or seeing things that aren’t there
  • Behaviour problems – at home, school or with peers
  • Relationship problems – at home, school or with peers
  • Substance misuse problems

Sometimes young people and families may be transferred into the general part of our service from other parts of the service, eg emergency or eating disorders. This can mean working with a wider range of professionals within the team.
