Staff turned out in force for an emotional clap at 5pm on Sunday to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the NHS.

To mark the occasion, staff across the whole of the Royal Free London have been treated to free non-alcholic beer as well as ice cream, arranged by the Royal Free Charity.

It has been an opportunity for staff to take a moment to enjoy a well-deserved treat and to reflect on the past few months, which has seen the trust care for more than 1,500 patients with COVID-19.

The Royal Free Hospital was one of the first NHS hospitals to take COVID-19 patients in the UK.
