"My A&E heroes
Had occasion to visit A&E on Tuesday 11th by ambulance and was taken in immediately and registered. Not being the easiest of patients, having a vasovagal attack almost immediately during a blood test, the staff were welcoming and right from the get go. Through my stay there of some 18 hours, I was made to feel safe and reassured at all times. I was given a number of tests in short order - ct, x-ray, ultrasound, regular heart monitoring and so on. I was so impressed by the speed and thoroughness of treatment. I saw a number of doctors and nursing staff and felt only one was a bit brusque, which considering the pressure in the department was amazing. And even then, they had several patients demanding attention.
After being kept in over night for monitoring, I saw the consultant, who came early and was so cheerful and positive. They explained everything to me along with their further instructions to carry on the treatment and discharged me. I felt so grateful and valued for all the kind understanding and support I had received. Barnet A&E has excellent standards and amazing staff. I cannot commend them highly enough."
