Tessa, advanced wound care specialist podiatristTessa Goldblatt is an advanced wound care specialist podiatrist. Here she answers our questions about her work in the NHS.

What training/qualifications have you done to get to where you are now?

A BSc Hons in podiatric medicine.

Why do you do what you do?

I love my job, there is never a dull day! Podiatry has taken me to the other side of the world, to Hong Kong, and it’s fascinating, no two days are ever the same.

What is the best thing about your role?

I have the flexibility of team work and working alone and I can make a positive impact on a patients’ general health.

Why do you like working at the Royal Free London?

The Royal Free London has an excellent specialised podiatry service, working with numerous specialities, which means we can offer the best possible care to our patients.

What would you say to someone considering a career in the NHS?

Do it! The NHS can offer support, education, security and training in varied settings and fields!

What did you want to be when you were little?

A dancer

Any other interesting/fun facts about your career you would like to share?

My career links to my other passion – fitness! I’m a pilates and group exercise instructor.
