On average, three people die every day in need of a transplant because there are just not enough organs available. There are currently around 7,000 people in the UK on the active waiting list - including around 200 children. One donor can save or transform up to nine lives through organ donation and up to 50 through tissue donation. 82% of the population definitely want to donate or would consider donating their organs, but only 50% have talked about it with their families.
Join Natalie Akenzua, specialist nurse for organ donation, from 1-2pm on Monday 17 October to answer your questions on deceased donation, and find out how we can all have the conversation about donation to save the lives of the thousands waiting, and give comfort to families in the end-of-life care of loved ones.
