Royal Free Hospital chief executive officer
Kate Slemeck took up the post of Royal Free Hospital chief executive in January 2018. She was previously Royal Free London (RFL) group chief operating officer. She joined RFL as the director of operations in 2011 before being appointed as chief operating officer in 2012.
Prior to taking up her position at the Royal Free London, Kate was the director of operations at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust for five years and before this deputy director of operations. She has over 23 years’ NHS management experience, mainly in acute trusts (including Northwick Park Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability). She originally trained as an occupational therapist.Kate Slemeck joined the trust as the director of operations in 2011 before being appointed as chief operating officer in 2012.
