Biography

Ian has lived in Barnet for 30 years was appointed to the council of governors in February 2019. He has chaired the local Citizens Advice service since 2013 and been a governor at Friern Barnet School for nearly 10 years. Ian’s professional career spans over 40 years and includes many senior roles in the commercial and voluntary sectors. In 20 years with the international Fairtrade movement he established partnerships with retailers and food brands in Britain before taking on a leadership role in the international network that works in over 70 countries around the world. His responsibilities included strategy and organisational development, governance and stakeholder relations and he continues as a member of their Global Board.
