Biography

Professor David Lomas was appointed as a non-executive director in September 2020.

He is chair of the Royal Free London's Clinical Standards and Innovation Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee.

David is Vice Provost (Health) at UCL, Head of UCL Medical School and Director of UCL Partners Academic Health Science Centre. He was an MRC clinician scientist, university lecturer and professor of respiratory biology in Cambridge before moving to University College London Hospital (UCL) in 2013 to be chair of medicine and dean of the faculty of medical sciences. He previously chaired the respiratory therapy area unit board at GlaxoSmithKline and was deputy chief executive of the Medical Research Council (UK).

David serves as deputy chair of the scientific advisory committee for Genomics England, is a non-executive director at UCLH, the Francis Crick Institute, the Africa Health Research Institute, the British Heart Foundation and MedCity Ltd. He is a National Institute for Health Research senior investigator.
