Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

Mr Rohit Jolly BSc MBBS FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with subspecialist interests in paediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus/ neuro-ophthalmology as well as adult cataract surgery and general ophthalmology. He is the clinical lead for Emergency Eye Care at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust where he holds his substantive NHS Consultant post and provides care at the Royal Free, Barnet, Edgware and the Whittington hospitals.
Mr Jolly graduated from the University College London with a degree in medicine and also neuroscience for which he achieved the Deans list prize for recognition of his outstanding achievement. He undertook his Ophthalmic training within the North Thames London Deanery, rotating through many different hospitals including the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, acquiring a breadth of experience from leading clinicians within their fields.
He has furthered his extensive experience by undertaking a Fellowship at the Royal Free in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Adult Strabismus and Cataract surgery, learning the modern techniques of squint surgery as well as its medical management. In addition to this he has a keen interest in acute ophthalmic care and has previously held the position of a Consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital in the busiest dedicated ophthalmic eye casualty in Europe.
Mr Jolly is extremely passionate about teaching and training, and also holds the role of College Tutor at the Royal Free.
