Support Hub

Support and information for patients and carers affected by long term health conditions

The Royal Free Charity Support hub was set up in March 2018, to provide help and information to people with long term health conditions and their carers. The Support hub is here to help reduce the stress in times of already great worry and uncertainty.

The Support hub consists of:

The welfare benefit advice service – At the core of the Support hub, our team of 3 welfare benefit advisers support patients with an array of issues including benefits (e.g. applications and appeals) and housing issues; helping people to navigate complex situations when going through difficult times
Volunteer ‘check in and chats’ – during Covid-19 this service has been set up for people that are more isolated than usual; connecting people with a volunteer buddy to regularly check in with them
Support groups – we currently run an Amputee support group; this has continued every 2 weeks during covid-19, running virtually.
General information and signposting – the Support hub team can also advise and signpost to many other services in the community, locally and nationwide dependent on patient or carer need.

The Support hub physical space is currently closed, but we are still contactable on our main phone number; all welfare benefit appointments are also continuing over the phone.  We hope to physically open again soon once it is safe to do so.
