The London organ donation walk - be part of it!
5 September 2019
Location: Royal Free Hospital
You are invited to join an exciting walk taking place on Thursday, 5 September, during National Organ Donation Week.
The aim of the walk is to raise awareness and celebrate organ donation by encouraging people to make a decision about whether they want to be an organ donor in the event of their death and asking people to have conversations about this decision with their loved ones.
To mark the occasion there will be a walking event across London, starting from five major hospitals including the Royal Free Hospital, King’s College Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, Royal London Hospital and University College Hospital. All five will have the same end point in Westminster where there will be a celebration.
The aim is to bring a variety of people to help share the important message of organ donation and you are invited to walk along to help do this.
The aim is for about 50 people to walk each route – made up from a combination of specialist nurses in organ donation, clinical staff, transplant recipients and organ donor family members, charities, BAME and faith leaders, stakeholders and organ donor ambassadors.
The meeting point will be at the main reception of Royal Free Hospital at 11.50am for a departure time of 12.00 and the walk is between five and six miles long.
