NHS waiting times
How long will I wait for NHS treatment at Royal Free hospitals?
At the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, we understand that you don't want to wait any longer than necessary for the treatment you need. To this end, adhere to the wider NHS commitment to provide you with medical treatment within 18 weeks of seeing your doctor for a referral to one of the hospitals in our trust.
This means most patients should be seen and treated within 18 weeks although the target allows that if a patient's condition is complex, it can take longer if it's in the clinical interests of the patient.
For patients whose treatment can be provided in an out-patient setting the target is for 95% of pathways to complete in 18 weeks and for those patients requiring an admission to hospital the target is 90%. A total of 92% of patients who are actively waiting for treatment should not have waited longer than 18-weeks.
