Date: Wednesday 17 April 2019
Visitor restrictions are currently in place in the following areas:
- Larch ward, Barnet Hospital is currently affected by a norovirus outbreak, and visiting is restricted.
In order to protect our patients and visitors, we need to temporarily stop all visitors to the ward. If you have any concerns regarding your relatives, please contact the nurse in charge of the ward for further advice. We greatly appreciate your understanding and co-operation in helping us protect our patients, and will keep you informed as to when the restriction is lifted.
Please also be aware to help control the spread of the virus, it may be necessary in some circumstances to transfer patients to different areas within our trust to ensure they continue to receive the highest quality of care. We will inform the affected patient's next of kin if this is the case.
If you feel unwell with any flu-like symptoms or norovirus (diarrhoea or vomiting), please do not visit the hospital until you have been symptom-free for 48 hours. For further information and advice on viruses please see here.
