Biography

Dr Christine Jenkins MB BS BSc (Hons) FRCP (UK) FRCPCH DCH DRCOG MRCGP qualified from University College Hospital London. 

She was a registrar in general medicine, completed GP training and enjoyed voluntary medical experience in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Uganda.

She trained in paediatrics at University College Hospital and north London before appointment as consultant paediatrician, community child health, E&N Herts NHS Trust. She now works as consultant paediatrician, community child health, at Barnet Hospital, Royal Free London NHS Trust.

She specialises in neurodevelopmental paediatrics, development coordination disorder/ DCD/ dyspraxia, autism spectrum disorder and neurodevelopmental differences. Her special interests include Down syndrome and she has been a co-developer of the Barnet integrated care pathway for children and young people with down syndrome. She is on the steering group of the national down syndrome medical interest group (DSMIG.)

She has particular enthusiasm for joint integrated working and holistic care, with development of multi disciplinary and interagency team work with colleagues in health and education.
