Biography
Dr Ariyaratne MBBS MSc MD(Res) MRCP FRCR is a consultant clinical oncologist specialising in lung and gastro-intestinal cancers. Dr Hemal Ariyaratne is the lead for stereotactic ablative radiotherapy as a treatment for lung cancer at the Royal Free London. He is also the principal investigator for clinical trials in lung radiotherapy and lower gastro-intestinal radiotherapy at the Royal Free Hospital.
His research interests include the following treatments:
• stereotactic ablative radiotherapy
• immunotherapy integration with lung radiotherapy
• total neoadjuvant approaches to rectal chemoradiation
