Biography

Dr Tomson is a Consultant Cardiologist and the clinical lead for Cardiac Rhythm management services at the Royal Free London hospitals. His interests include atrial fibrillation, implantation of Cardiac devices (pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronisation therapy), management of syncope (loss of consciousness), palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath and cardiac dysfunction. His other interests include, using newer technologies in health to develop innovative care, cardiovascular epidemiology and clinical trials research.

He teaches the UCL medical students and holds an Honorary Clinical Associate Professorship. He is Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London and an accredited specialist in cardiac devices (CCDS).

After completing specialist training in Cardiology (CCT Cardiology, UK)  and Cardiovascular research and his research thesis at the Clinical Trials and Statistics Service Unit (CTSU), University of Oxford (MD), he joined the Royal Free hospital, Hampstead, London in 2015. He has published several peer-reviewed articles in cardiovascular sciences in the top journals and cited in the PubMed library online.

His arrhythmia/syncope clinics are based at the Royal Free London hospitals NHS Trust. He consults privately at The Royal Free Private unit (Hampstead) and elsewhere in London.
