Biography

Dr Tang graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School, with postgraduate gastroenterology/hepatology higher specialist training in London at both Guys & St Thomas' and University College London (UCL) hospitals. He has also completed training at the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital. He is dual-accredited in both gastroenterology and general internal medicine.

He pursued subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy/colonoscopy and ERCP as assistant professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1998-1999), and delivers a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP service at the Royal Free London.

Dr Tang is active in endoscopy training in his role as both educational and clinical trainee supervisor in general gastroenterology.

He was awarded a Wellcome institute training fellowship and conducted full-time research at the Institute of Hepatology, UCL (2000-20003), completing his MD thesis in viral hepatitis immunopathogenesis.
