Biography

Prof Mumtaz is a consultant urological surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital. He had his postgraduate urological training at the Royal Free Hospital and University college London.

He has developed a specialist interest in laparoscopic and robotic renal surgery. His expertise includes surgery for renal tumours involving the cava/atrium and cytoreductive surgery to remove large kidney tumours prior to or following targeted immunotherapy for kidney cancer.

Prof Mumtaz has established robotic renal surgery at the Royal Free Hospital and routinely performs robotic removal of kidney tumours and reconstruction of obstructed kidneys. He also performs laparoscopic surgery for kidney and ureteric stones.

In renal surgery, he is able to offer assessment and treatment for general urological conditions such as enlargement of prostate gland, elevated PSA, haematuria, urinary tract symptoms, circumcision and erectile dysfunction.

He is also the postgraduate lead for urological training programme at the Royal Free London.
