The North London Breast Screening Service (NLBSS) is part of the National Breast Screening Programme and is one of the largest breast screening services in England. NLBSS provides a free breast screening service for women aged between 47 and 73, resident within Barnet, Brent, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Harrow and West Hertfordshire. We aim to provide and promote an efficient and effective, high quality breast screening service, to all eligible women within a caring environment. Breast screening using full field digital mammography aims to find breast cancer at an early stage, often before there are any symptoms. Early detection may often mean simpler and more successful treatment. Breast screening takes place at Edgware Hospital and the Forest Road static site, as well as at further multiple sites using five breast screening mobile units. The service is hosted on the Edgware Community hospitals site where assessment clinics also takes place.
