Video: Having a pacemaker

The cardiology department has produced a series of short videos providing useful information to patients about what will happen when they arrive at one of the trust’s hospitals, and explaining stent and pacemaker procedures.

This film is aimed at patients who are coming for a pacemaker device. It explains exactly what a pacemaker is and how it works, and why you might have been referred for it.

Watch our video on having a pacemaker fitted (duration 3:17)

Pacemaker devices are fitted at both the Royal Free (IRCU) and also in the Barnet cath lab. In addition to this film we would recommend that you watch the Introduction to our cath labs film for the unit where you are having the procedure carried out to give a more general overview.
