In response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak and in line with national guidance, from 15 April we will suspend some of our elective (planned) surgery at the Royal Free London.

Some procedures will also be cancelled before this date so we can train our staff to support colleagues in other areas of our hospitals.

Urgent and emergency cases and cancer treatments will be carrying on as usual.

You will be contacted by the trust if you are affected by this. If you do not hear from us, please visit the hospital as planned for your operation.

If you develop either of the following symptoms:

  • a new, continuous cough - this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in a 24 hour period (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse that usual)
  • a high temperature - this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

Please stay indoors and keep away from others. Please do not come to hospital.
