Enfield mayor visits Chase Farm Hospital
3 November 2015
The Mayor of Enfield, Councillor Patricia Ekechi, was given a guided tour Chase Farm Hospital (CFH) as well an introduction to plans to replace the existing buildings with a brand new hospital last week.
On Thursday 29 October the Upper Edmonton ward member visited the CFH redevelopment hub to discuss the redevelopment plans with Fiona Jackson, hospital director, before visiting patients and staff in the older persons' assessment unit, elderly care wards and urgent care centre.
Councillor Ekechi was particularly interested in dementia care at CFH, having devoted her Mayor’s Charity Fund to various charities aimed at helping people living with the condition.
She said: “It was good to see that all the patients in the wards I visited seemed very happy and the staff here are very friendly. Dementia is my chosen cause and I’m quite happy with what I have seen.”
Fiona said: “It was a real honour to have the Mayor here. This was a chance to not only talk through our exciting plans for the new hospital, but also to show off the world class care our staff are providing right now.
