Sexual health clinics to close

12 June 2017

From 3 July 2017 the Royal Free London will no longer be providing sexual health services – although the trust will continue to provide HIV care.

Sexual health services (excluding HIV care) will instead be transferred to the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL).

These changes are due to the reorganisation of sexual health provision across London and means that the Marlborough clinic at the Royal Free Hospital and the Clare Simpson clinics at Barnet Hospital and Edgware Community Hospital will close at the end of June.

Alternative services in Camden, Islington and Barnet will be provided by CNWL. There is information on the CNWL website and at the bottom of this page about some of these alternative services.

During the week commencing 26 June the Clare Simpson clinics at Barnet and Edgware and the Marlborough clinic at the Royal Free Hospital will be not be open to walk-in patients – please use alternative services, which are listed at the bottom of this page.

HIV care will continue to be provided at the Royal Free Hospital and existing HIV patients at Barnet Hospital will continue to be seen there at the monthly clinic.

If you have an appointment with the Marlborough clinic or the Clare Simpson clinic on or after 3 July, we will be in touch with you shortly.

If you are concerned about any of these changes please speak to a member of staff or call the clinic:
