The urgent care centre at Chase Farm Hospital will be open from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week from 5 January 2015.

The centre treats patients with urgent but not life threatening injuries such as broken bones, minor burns, minor head and eye injuries and illnesses.

The centre is currently open from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week; yesterday’s announcement will see the centre increase its opening hours by two hours each day.

David Sloman, chief executive of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Now that Enfield CCG has made the decision to extend the opening hours of the urgent care centre at Chase Farm Hospital we look forward to offering this improved access to high-quality, local care.”

The Royal Free London is working with Enfield CCG to implement these changes and the new arrangements will be in place at least until the CCG’s review of urgent care services across Enfield is carried out in summer 2015.
