Edgware birth centre

The Edgware Birth Centre is standalone centre located within Edgware Community Hospital. There are no obstetricians on site and should complications arise during labour you would be transferred to our nearest hospital by ambulance.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have put new measures in place for women due to give birth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please visit our dedicated COVID-19 advice page for maternity service users.

All women planning to give birth at Edgware Birth Centre will be cared for by a dedicated team of midwives who will care for you throughout your pregnancy, labour and after your baby is born. Please call the midwife on the number provided by the Edgware Birth Centre Team when you are in labour.

If you are unable to contact the midwife or for any other concerns about yourself or your baby please call Barnet Hospital Maternity Triage on 0208 216 4408.

Facilities

At the Edgware Birth Centre we have:

  • five ensuite birthing rooms
  • three birthing pools for you to labour/birth in
  • birth stools to help you with an upright birth as well as bean bags and birth balls.
