Tomorrow we will be live-tweeting from the UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation (IIT).

Look out for the hashtag #IITresearch to learn more about the incredible research taking place at the IIT, which is based at the Royal Free Hospital.

Researchers at the IIT are developing treatments for a range of conditions, including multiple sclerosis, leukaemia and diabetes. A fundamental part of the IIT research programme involves modifying the genetic make-up of immune cells to enable our own bodies to fight diseases more effectively.

The IIT is the only immunology research centre outside the US to bring doctors, patients and researchers together in one place. This close proximity to the hospital enables researchers to understand more about disease and the treatments that might bring most benefit to patients.
