Barnet community paediatric service

The Barnet community paediatric service is team of community paediatricians who offer assessments to children presenting with developmental delay or impairment, including conditions such as:

  • global developmental delay or learning disability
  • autistic spectrum disorder
  • cerebral palsy
  • complex conditions of neurodisability (including syndromes, neuromuscular, neurometabolic and neurogenetic conditions).

We work closely with colleagues from other organisations, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, specialist teachers, nurses, schools and social workers to ensure that children with neurodevelopmental conditions receive coordinated care.

Most children will be assessed in the general child development clinics, but we also offer a locomotor clinic for children whose main problem relates to motor disability.
