Royal Free London Skin Unit

Overview

The Royal Free Hospital has a dedicated team of dermatologists, plastic surgeons, medical oncologists, clinical oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, clinical nurse specialists, along with an efficient administrative team involved in the care of patients with skin cancers.

We treat the full spectrum of skin cancers from a growing catchment area through a wide range of treatment modalities. Every week we review more than 50 patients in the specialist skin multi disciplinary team meeting to discuss and decide the most appropriate treatment option or options for each patient. In our weekly decision to treat clinic we review more than 30 patients, offering patients who sometimes have come from a distance the opportunity to meet and discuss treatment options with more than one specialist in a single visit; this is particularly helpful when there is equipoise as to the best treatment modality.

With the establishment of The Royal Free London Skin Unit we aim to be a world recognized leader in the field of skin cancer. We wish to gain a greater understanding of skin cancers and test and generate new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of skin cancers. Our vision is to use innovation, modern technology, and artificial intelligence to provide cutting edge treatment in a compassionate environment.

In the pages alongside we have names of the members of each team, including their subspeciality interests.
