The Royal Free London radiology service provides state-of-the-art medical imaging for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions.

As well as routine services the radiology department at the Royal Free London also offers expert specialist imaging and image guided treatment across North London for several conditions. Imaging investigations offered include CT and MRI scans, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, breast imaging, DEXA scans and nuclear medicine imaging including PET/CT.

The interventional radiology department, part of the interventional radiology and cardiology unit, offers minimally invasive image guided treatment for a range of conditions treating patients with cancer, vascular disease, liver and renal disease among others. Minimally invasive treatments performed in interventional radiology are often available to patients who would not be able to receive alternative surgical treatments and are associated with a quicker return to normal activity than surgical alternatives. Several cancers are now treated using techniques offered by interventional radiology.

We care for a diverse range of patients at the hospitals in our trust, providing extensive radiology support for in-patient services and out-patient clinics.
